Tagwood BBQ Argentine Santa Maria Wood Fire & Charcoal Gaucho Grill

The BBQ03SI and BBQ03SS grills offer variations of the esteemed Santa Maria design, catering to different tastes. The BBQ03SS is fashioned from 304 stainless steel for superior durability, while the BBQ03SI is made from standard iron with a heat-resistant paint finish for a traditional look. Both models boast versatile grilling areas, including main and secondary grates, an interchangeable griddle, and S-shaped meat hooks, all designed for a variety of cooking styles. With 15 cm casters for mobility, each version combines practicality with either a sleek or classic aesthetic, ensuring an exceptional grilling experience tailored to personal preference.

About the materials: SI, or Standard Iron, also known as Cold Rolled Steel, presents a more affordable alternative to stainless steel, offering enhanced strength and a smooth finish. Ideal for various durable applications, it combines cost-effectiveness with robust performance. Please note, however, that we do not provide a warranty on the paint finish.

About the BBQ03

This grill offers four distinct grilling zones for a versatile cooking experience: a main grate with a height-adjustable system, a secondary grate, and a griddle perfect for your favorite vegetables. Combined, these provide a total of 4606 square centimeters of grilling space. The gaucho-style brasero firebox enhances charcoal lighting efficiency, requiring less effort while keeping the flame separate from your food. Whether you prefer wood charcoal or firewood, this feature allows you to grill in true gaucho fashion. It's ideal for slow-cooking short ribs for 4 hours, grilling Argentine sausage or chorizo, or smoking fish on the main grate, with the option to cook potatoes on the secondary grate. Firebricks lining the bottom and walls not only extend the grill's durability but also promote even heat distribution. Additional features include a bottle opener, a 304 stainless steel shovel and coal rake, and 4 swivel casters (2 with brakes) for improved mobility. This grill comes with a 5-year limited warranty, ensuring long-term satisfaction and performance.

We pride ourselves on working exclusively with top-tier materials, guaranteeing the premium quality of our products.

Key features

Height adjustable grates

This feature enables you to adjust the grates' height to precisely control the cooking temperature. Simply turn the wheel to raise or lower the main grates based on your needs: closer to the coals for more heat to sear, or further away for less heat, perfect for slow cooking. It's a characteristic commonly found in South American barbecues, designed to give you complete mastery over your grilling experience.

Key features

The firebox or brasero

The firebox, also known as a brasero, streamlines the process of lighting wood or charcoal, making it faster and requiring less effort. It ensures the fire stays lit and keeps it distanced from the food. Whether you prefer firewood, charcoal, or a mix of both, this feature accommodates your grilling style. For optimal results, lump charcoal and firewood come highly recommended. Once the coals are adequately heated, they simply drop below, offering a straightforward and effective way to ignite the fire and grill in the authentic style of a gaucho.

Key features

Firebricks

Firebricks are designed to minimize heat transmission to the outer panels while also ensuring even heat distribution throughout the grill. This characteristic is a hallmark of the Argentine grill and is considered essential for its ability to prolong the lifespan of the charcoal grill.

Customer reviews
Absolutely in love with my new Tagwood. The grill is as great as the customer service. I was walked through every single detail to find the grill that fit my needs. The grill is built like a tank. The fire box makes it easy and convenient to have hot embers ready on demand. Open fire cooking at its best
I can’t say enough about this grill. From the quality of construction, customer service and the fantastic meats it helps to produce. I’ve been doing BBQ for over 3 decades and have cooked over dozens of different grills but this is hands down my favorite. Do yourself a favor and get one today.
I have another grill I paid twice as much for and never use. The Tagwood is amazing. This grill is something that needs to be mastered. Takes a couple of cooks but then you are good to go. My picture is of our second course that night. The first was melted provoleta with oregano and pepper flakes sprinkled on top served with toasted French bread, then flap steak, two kinds of sausages, and finally ribeye and the peppers you are looking at. And to make it even more Argentinian, we served shortbread cookies with Dulce de Leche. Of course, all paired with Malbec!
